28 Millimetres: WOMEN - JR

JR's first solo show at Lazarides, 28 Millimetres: WOMEN opened today, October 3rd, 2008 in both the Greek Street and Charing Cross galleries, and in the surrounding streets of London. 28 Millimetres: WOMEN includes new originals and a truly awe inspiring site-specific installation. Yep, that's an entire city block you're looking at above.
Often working undercover, Parisian photographer JR transforms streets, buildings, war zones, and entire villages with his world-renowned, massive photographic campaigns. He works with a 28mm lens with a wide-angle focal length, and often just stands a few inches from his subject. The results are striking, open, raw, and arresting images that are nothing short of astounding- especially when they’re three stories high.
