Cannonball | Skate
Some of them are full of black water. Others have become graveyards for old lawn furniture and rodent carcasses. They are shaped like jelly beans and manufactured by companies named Sunny Side and Champagne. Once upon a time, Fresno was the California Dream. Own a car. Own a house. Own a pool. Everyone wanted it and the wonderful world of credit made it all possible. But now, with the foreclosure monster running wild, the dream is dry. Thousands of pools are festering in the hot Central Valley sun. For most people this is tragic. But for some, it’s an opportunity.

Ghost Bike | film
Ghosts from Christopher Hewitt on Vimeo.
Christopher Hewitt has recently finished a charity commercial for the Ghost Bike Organisation. Ghost Bikes are small and somber memorials for bicyclists who are killed or hit on the street. A bicycle is painted all white and locked to a street sign near the crash site. They serve as reminders of the tragedy that took place on an otherwise anonymous street corner, and as quiet statements in support of cyclists right to safe travel.
Sally Seltmann in Montreal | Music

Tomorrow night, June 17th, Sally Seltmann (aka New Buffalo) is playing at Le Cagibi in Montreal!!
As New Buffalo, the Australian chanteuse – and wife to Darren Seltmann of The Avalanches – released two albums, 2004’s The Last Beautiful Day and 2007’s Somewhere, Anywhere, both composed of sugary sweet ballads that are accented by chamber sounds, electronic flounces and endless sighs.
With the 2010 release of Heart That’s Pounding and the dropping of her New Buffalo persona, Sally Seltmann seems ready for the next step in her career.
If your in Montreal you should definitely come out for this one.

Happengläd's New Hat | Event
On Tuesday night I went to the first Happengläd's New Hat series hosted by DeAnne Smith.
Id have to say it was the most enjoyable $5 I've spent in a while!
""Happenglad's New Hat" is the new DeAnne Smith project, after yet another successful Australian tour. The show will embrace a variety hour format, with special guests and improvisers alongside her as host. "
The show was packed full of acts that had me laughing, crying (from laughter), and awkwardly cringing the whole way through. I think there was even a moment when I felt slightly scared... Yes yes that was the moment when DeAnne Smith tried out her new 'catch phrase'. I guess there is really no knowing where the show will go with DeAnne Smith as the host.
It was at Au Nouveau Théâtre Sainte-Catherine which was an awesome venue for the event.
A lovely woman sat beside me who had clearly walked in off the street with no idea of what was going on. Throughout the show she asked me questions about references that she didnt understand and grabbed my shoulder as she wheezed with laughter, rocking back and forth on her chair. By the end of the show, after I had explained some rather uncomfortable topics to this complete stranger I felt a twinge of sadness as we parted ways. I hope she comes back to the next one.....
There were some really awesome performances that night.
My favorites would have to be QUEEN The All Female Improv Troupe Not The Band, Mike Patterson, DeAnne Smith(ers) and fellow Australian, Sarah Quinn who perfectly described the monotony and hilariousness of the office environment.
This was the 1st of the "New Hat" Series that will be happening once a month at Au Nouveau Théâtre Sainte-Catherine. It involved music, stand up, puppetry, improv and spoken word.
Im not sure on the details of the next show but ill be sure to blog as soon as I find out.
Its a great way to get out and enjoy some of the upcoming local talent. I highly recommend coming along.
WaHS.....

Bicycle film festival | 2010 Trailer
Amazing work once again from my favorite Italian, Marco Mucig.
The Bicycle Film Festival is in its 10th year in NYC. The trailer really needed to be as explosive as the event will be! I think the trailer fits perfectly.
Great job MARCO!!!!! and BFF team. See you all soon.
For the second year, BFF Art Director Marco Mucig filmed the trailer supported by the soundtrack of Scuola Furano (www.scuolafurano.com).
Marco is an italian director, artist and designer. He has a delicate and a very personal imagery. He signed several video-clips, trailers and TV formats. You can follow his adventures here: www.snowgroup.net.
