TUESDAY TUNES

I'm a bit late on this one but it has only just been brought to my attention by my lovely friends at Bikurious.

Dark was the Night is an amazing 2disc compilation of all your favorites. Some even collaborate together. Whats also very cool is that its for RED HOT Organisation!
I cant stop listening to this album and the artwork is beautiful.
Definitely one that you should buy and hold and love.

Dark Was The Night was released on February 17th, 2009. It’s comprised of 31 exclusive tracks and proceeds will benefit the Red Hot Organization – an international charity dedicated to raising money and awareness for HIV and AIDS through popular culture. They are the people responsible for albums including No Alternative, Red Hot and Blue and many more, and this is their 20th year, and this is the 20th release!

It was produced by The National's Aaron and Bryce Dessner. John Carlin, the founder of the Red Hot Organization, was the executive producer for the album. The title is derived from the Blind Willie Johnson song "Dark Was the Night, Cold Was the Ground," which is covered on this collection by the Kronos Quartet.
John Carlin was quoted as saying "Dark Was the Night encapsulated the spirit and creativity of a new generation of musicians whose work struck a chord and got people to actually purchase the album and raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to fight AIDS."

Available as a double CD, three vinyl LPs, or as a digital download here....

Play Safe....
